Chinese court jails old landlord for possessing "state secrets" - rights centre

According to the Hong Kong Information Centre for Human Rights & Democracy (7 Nov), a Hong Kong-based fax service which reports on dissidence, protests and human rights violations in China, the Taizhou Jiaojiang District Court in Zhejiang sentenced a 71 year old man called Lin Dagang, a landlord with 550 square meters of residential houses, to two years imprisonment for "illegal possession of state secret," a document distributed by Ministry of Construction on 25 December 2006 on rental and lease of commodity homes. The document stipulated that the "policy on rental and lease" should not be reported in public via television or local media.
