Text of report by Hong Kong Information Centre for Human Rights and Democracy

The Hong Kong Information Centre for Human Rights & Democracy, a Hong Kong-based fax service which reports on dissidence, on 1 November, cites an unidentified source as saying that Hu Jintao will remain as the Central Military Commission chairman for another five years, until 2017. The source adds that there is "unease" among the top military brass over the fact that most of Xi Jinping's relatives are citizens of foreign countries. It is also reported that as the reshuffle in the military leadership is nearing completion, most of those promoted are officers with "connections abroad."
