Hong Kong fax-based service Information Centre for Human Rights and Democracy carried a report on 15 December 2012, which claimed that 57 people who believed that 21 December 2012 is the doomsday were arrested in Fujian, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Hubei, and Chongqing since 8 December. The report claimed that these arrested people were neither swindlers nor cult members. The report claimed that 39 people were arrested in Fuzhou and Quanzhou, Fujian on 8 December, 7 in Yan'an, Shaanxi on 8 December, 2 in Guangyuan, Sichuan on 13 December, 5 in Wuhan, Hubei on 13 December, and 4 in Chongqing on 9 and 12 December.
