According to the Hong Kong Information Center for Human Rights & Democracy (26 March), a Hong Kong-based fax service which reports on dissidence, a male Tibetan set himself on fire in Xiahe County, Gansu Province, on the morning of 25 March. It is not clear whether he is alive or dead. It has also been learned that a Tibetan woman was reported dead after self-immolation in Rangtang County, Sichuan Province, on the afternoon of 24 March. The centre's findings show that since early this year, there have been six Tibetan self-immolation cases in Gansu and five cases in Sichuan, in which 10 died.
