Hong Kong Information Centre for Human Rights & Democracy, a Hong Kong-based fax service which reports on dissidence, on 29 March reports on an explosion of a residential building in Liaoning province, and a truck explosion in Hunan Province. Following is a source-supplied translation of the report:

We are informed that, at 8:00 pm on 28 March, there was an explosion and fire in a building near Bei Bian Chen Road of Dadong district, Shenyang city, Liaoning province. Twenty fire engines fought the blaze. Shenyang fire department told us that the fire was extinguished at 2:00 am this morning (29 March), but the number of casualties cannot be revealed. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.

At 6:00 am on 27 March, a truck carrying explosives exploded in Dayao town, Liuyang city, Hunan province. Four people were killed, and four people were injured. The day before yesterday (27 March), we called the Liuyang city government. The government denied the occurrence of the explosion, but the Liuyang emergency centre has confirmed to us that four people were killed in the explosion.
